How we're acting on reports from the community |

Dear Resident, Local officers in Sutton Coldfield are working hard to address the issues reported to them by members of the community. We know that vehicle crime remains a concern for locals, and as well as acting on their information - we've responded quickly to reports of crime in progress this week. Officers were called to Chester Road North to reports of someone trying to steal a car. Within minutes, a man was arrested and has now been charged to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court. Elsewhere, tackling anti-social behaviour remains a priority for Dedicated Neighbourhood Officers, and as we move towards darker nights, we are targeting high-visibility patrols in key areas and making sure we're in the right place at the right time. We remember the theft of a mural from the town centre back in April, and again thanks to a quick response from officers and partners in the town centre, a suspect was swiftly apprehended. A man was charged and has recently pleaded guilty and been sentenced. We were also pleased over the summer to resolve an incident of anti-social behaviour which attracted a lot of attention in the town centre – when flower beds were damaged. The boys involved were caught and worked to put things right by replanting the beds. If anyone has any concerns about crime or anti-social behaviour in Sutton, it should be reported to us via 101, Live Chat on our website, or in person to local officers – who are there to listen to you. Always call 999 in an emergency. | ||
